dreams for mayan children charity organization playa del carmen mexico

Dreams for Mayan children's commitment is to the children, we work with parents and teachers to find the best way possible to provide the children with classroom materials needed in special language classes (Maya-Spanish), kindergarten and elementary schools years.

An education is the only chance of a better future for the children and their families; if the children do not attend school they are most likely to work the fields alongside their families. It is our belief that a brighter future lies in the education of the children and the support to parents, many whom had not had even basic education and adult school is sometimes not possible due to small income or no programs available.

In addition to our students support program, we will try to provide families with home-building materials and volunteer work to improve family living spaces. Building homes is expensive and time consuming; it requires planning and well organized volunteer work. Our goal is to understand their needs and develop a cost-effective plan to implement, let us note that we do not try to change their way of living but merely improving it, and the preservation of traditions in the Mayan culture is encouraged among everyone involved.
